Mexico: We all dream of finding Shangri-La, that perfect get away or retirement spot, perpetual spring, low cost of living, virtually no crime, and most important a people who are happy to have you living in their community; does Mexico fit into that category?

I'm sorry to say no more, I've been living in Mexico for almost twenty years, and have seen some drastic changes, some for the good but unfortunately most for the worst. For one, the big cities have become very dangerous for North Americans. Kidnapping is the latest craze, granted big cities in the US are not exactly safe places either but the chances of having body parts sent to your relatives is very slight.

There are a few places that attract older Americans such as Lake Chapala, and San Miguel de Allende to name a few. These places are designed with Americans in mind and are not cheap; also, they are full of older Americans trying to play Mexican. If you want to live in a senior community you would be better off staying in Tucson, or Palm Beach it’s cheaper, and health care is closer; most important you are welcome and not just for your money.

A sad fact is Mexicans no longer like or respect us, if they ever did its history. In the major resorts such as Cancun, Puerto Vallarta, Manzanillo, and a few other resort areas you will be treated like kings; the employees in these major hotels are professionals when it comes to the art of patronization. They will go out of their way to put up with your bad manners and insults, but don't even think they like you, it's all for your money.

Let me elaborate on a issue that I'm sure your familiar with, but seem to look the other way when put in your face; "Spring Break" in case you've been living in a convent let me enlighten you.

Spring break is when hundreds of thousands of our collage students, the future leaders of our country flock to the beach resorts of Mexico. You would have to see it to believe it'. Some of our collages finest arrive in Mexico drunk on their butts; they hit the beaches and disco's like a pack of wild animals; they vomit and pee in the streets and fornicate on the beaches. One disco has a contest to see how many sexual positions a couple can achieve in the shortest possible time.

Think I'm making this up? I wish I was but this one made national television. They made a documentary on beaches all over Mexico called "Wild On" check out your locale TV station for the episode from Mazatlan, those kids where doing things in the disco's, on the beaches, and in the streets that I wish I could still do in my bedroom.
The disgusting part of all this is it's only for the "gringo's" if a Mexican kid got caught pulling this kind of crap he would be in the slammer, and I mean fast.
Your probably thinking, where are the cops during all this, well folks they are very busy looking the other way, they've got their orders to let these drunken perverts do any thing they want, as long as they're spending money the beach is theirs. The Mexican government has prostituted itself for the all mighty American dollar.

The majority of Mexicans are sick of having their beach resorts defiled by these North American scum, with their vulgar behavior. Unfortunately, as long as these resorts keep promoting the spring break orgies, the bags of trash from our colleges and universities will keep heading to Mexico where they can do things in public that would be xxx rated in their own country.

We now have a new situation in Mexico where there true feelings for the US has brought its ugly head to the surface. When the president of the US made the statement in regards to the war in Iraq, "you’re either for us or against us". Mexico along with France and Germany where the first to say they where against us. The people of Mexico cheered and danced in the streets, proudly proclaiming to the world that they where not afraid to stand up to the giant monster on their northern border.

The Mexican press and television have been slamming the US at every opportunity. Making the US out to be the savages who go out of their way to slaughter innocent women and children. For over a week, all I saw on television was the clip of four children who had been wounded by American bombers; their mothers screaming and their fathers weeping. Not once did they show our military in action against the evil empire created by the monster Saddam Hussein. Where was the voice of indignation from our close friends in Mexico when he was slaughtering millions of his own people?

My hangout used to be a locale pizza parlor but had to stop going because of all the anti American insults; much to my surprise from the owner who owes every thing he has to over twenty years of working in the US.
I live in a small town north of Guadalajara, where most the populace live off money generated in the US. I asked one big mouth if he was going to start sending his social security checks back. All I got was a dirty look, especially when I reminded him that being a good catholic it was a sin to receive dirty money.
Most young men from this town head to the US to find work, over 90% illegal. They will put their life on the line to get across that border. There are over thirteen million legal Mexicans living in the US and an estimated thirteen million illegal, accounting for over eleven billion dollars coming into Mexico per year, plus the US tourist spend another eight billion, talk about biting the hand that feeds you! Mexico has become a nation that hates us because they need us.

We now find ourselves needing them probably more than they need us. If they ever figure this out the US could find itself in very serious trouble. Think what would happen if the illegal Mexicans should organize into a union, or even a political group. Talk about power! What if they all went on a two-week strike? States like California, Texas, Nevada, Oregon, Washington, Arizona, and more; these six states would be in serious trouble. Fast food restaurants, motels, hotels, hospitals. They would all suffer incredible loses. Some, being put out of business. The agriculture industry would lose billions in a well-timed two-week shutdown. What is the solution?
